Greets all, I figured it was I dipped my toe into the wonderful (horrifying?) world of diarying on dKos.
Since I am still wearing my figurative water-wings, I am going to avoid the 'deep' and serious...and go with something 'safe' and (hopefully) not so serious.
With the launch of DK4, I have thoroughly enjoyed the many music diaries that have found their way to 'My Stream'. So, tonight I will add one to the mix.
I want to know the songs that remind you of loved ones. The songs that, in your mind, will always be affixed to a certain someone or attached to a certain group of friends. Those you've lost...those you keep. The old and comfortable...the new and exciting. Be it family, friend(s) or lover(s)...the songs that pull them to the forefront of your mind.
The songs that, merely upon the first notes, bring a smile to your face or catch in your breath...make your heart flutter or your chest tighten. The songs that, when heard, transport you to another place with a friend, lover, loved one...in a manner so vivid you can hear their voice..their laughter..over the sound of the music.
To my wife. My parents. My brothers. My sister. My family. My friends. To those I love whom I have lost, and to those who are still here. Loved ones and lovers, past and present.
Here is but a wee short list of the many songs that make up the soundtrack of my life.
Enjoy.
Fisher - I Will Love You
Grateful Dead - Ripple
Dj Kool feat Biz Markie & Doug E. Fresh - Let Me Clear My Throat
Morphine - In Spite Of Me
Peter Gabriel - Mercy Street
Hey Marseilles - Rio
The Connells '74-'75

Brandi Carlile - The Story
What are the songs that make your hearts soar?
Or, as is often the case for me, sore?
