Well, miracle of miracles... Sort of anyway...
It looks like Congressman Thaddeus McCotter (R-Livonia) might actually appear in public - right here in Michigan. The North Oakland Republican Club's latest newsletter claims that Thaddeus will grace their presence on the evening of March 24.
Michiganders, especially residents of the 11th Congressional District, know that Ole Thin-Skinned Thad's face is rarely seen in these parts. Well at the same time he has plenty of time to make appearances on right-wing news and radio.
During the 2010 election cycle McCotter refused to debate his opponents and did not show up at the League of Women Voters forum on September 9. His aides offered a lame excuse that he had another commitment shortly before the event. Turns out the commitment was being a speaker at Ralph Reed's Faith and Freedom Coalition's inaugural conference.
Please notice that the location of this event is a country club. How par for the course is that? Thad's constituent office is located in a private office park. When constituents show up his staff have been known to call the local police and restrict access to his office.
Oh, wait! The Pontiac Country Club (which is in Waterford, by the way) isn't even in McCotter's district. It's in Gary Peters' district.
Sigh.
Even when he shows up in Michigan he can't get it right.
