Seriously.
Thank you.
No, I haven't lost my mind. I haven't changed sides. I haven't been co-opted or bought off.
I just want to give credit where credit is due.
Thank you for unifying the union movement. Up until now unions have spent a great deal of time arguing among themselves, particularly since the anti-union agenda has gained ground and shrunk the numbers of unionized workers. We're all together now, united in a way no one thought possible. Past differences forgiven and forgotten. Who thought this would have been possible even a month ago?
Thank you for revitalizing union members. We've been a bit downtrodden lately with 2 decades worth of "give-back" contracts that have left us with less and less each year. We're energized now and back to working on the interests of working people in general.
Thank you for providing both a reason and a need for all workers to unite with their unionized brothers and sisters. Instead of dividing us as you have by making one group envy the scraps someone else has, you have show us that we need to stop fighting over the scaps and start demanding a bigger piece of the pie for everyone.
Thank you for showing us what this fight is all about. We know now that this is a fight to continue taking from the poor and middle class and giving to the corporate and wealthy.
Thank you for budget bills so extreme and hurtful that unions have been joined by community groups, average citizens, farmers, and municipal officials. The more, the merrier, we say.
Thank you for showing your true objectives and the agenda of Republicans. Rolling this out in several states where campaigns of lies and tens of millions of dollars in anonymous donor attack ads ensured large Republican majorities has show the people that your words can not be trusted anymore. We will look with great suspicion at future Republican endeavors.
Thank you for laying bare your agenda of voter disenfranchisement. Including a provision to require a Wisconsin State ID in order to vote in your Budget Bill ensures that the elderly, poor, rural residents, and others who don't drive and can't afford or access a Drivers Licensing facility to get a State ID will no longer be able to vote. Way to go! People should have to pay for their Constitutional rights. It's just a coincidence that most of those people tend to vote for Democrats, right?
Thanks a million for ensuring that our budget deficit (that you created with your corporate tax breaks) will get much larger since your budget removes $2 million in family planning services and loses and additional $7 million in federal subsidies for those services. Thanks for giving womens rights group a reason to join us, too. Perhaps you can close that deficit by taxing food pantries, free clinics and homeless shelters. After all, we must protect the rich and provide even more tax breaks for business.
Thank you for announcing we caused $7.5 million in damages to the Capitol by using the Blue Painters Tape that Capitol officials told us to use to prevent damage. Ignore the fact that the Capitol architect found little actual damage and that even the pumped up "estimate" by your appointee says there was $350,000 in damage. Forget about them. After all, you're the Governor (for now) and you get quoted at all those daily press conferences.
Thank you for bringing us all together to remove you and other radical extremists from the offices you lied your way in to. I'm certain that people will be more careful with their votes in the future. Also, less people will be inclined to sit home on election day, so you've really performed a great community service.
Thank you for waking up the people dulled by Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, and Faux Made Up Newz. We liked Bill O'Reillys story on confrontational protestors (complete with palm trees from some place other than Wisconsin) that we brought our own palm trees with us as a show of our appreciation. We have seen the "fair and balanced" Faux Newz in the light of reality.
A special thank you for helping us to understand who you respond and report to. It's been unclear to many how a couple of billionaires can be the only people behind such large and nice sounding organizations like Americans for Prosperity, the American Enterprise Institute, CATO Institute, and Freedom Works, among others. Why, we thought there were real people that got together and formed those groups independent of each other. Thanks for the clarification.
Thank you for the Koch Brothers sponsored Support Walker Bus Tour of Wisconsin. It gave lots of people who couldn't come to Madison the opportunity to show up locally to greet the Tea Baggers on the bus and outnumber them. We can hardly wait for all those ads they'll fund for Republicans facing recall.
So, Scott Walker, thanks again for all you have done for us while trying to stick it to us.Updated by Puddytat at Wed Mar 9, 2011, 03:55:33 PM
Gooserock correctly points out in the comments that we must also thank Scott Walker for making the often Republican-endorsing police and firefighter unions fight against the same Republicans they endorsed.
Update, Nutty Republican State Senators Edition: Wow, you guys just keep the good news coming. You've removed the union stripping provisions out of the Budget Repair Bill, sent them straight to a committee for an immediate hearing and plan on voting on them ASAP since you don't need a quorum for this drastic action. It's your so-called Nuclear Option. Thanks for dropping the bomb on your own head by showing us that this is the highest priority on your agenda. Keep on digging. Dig faster. Call for bigger shovels.

And I forgot to add, thanks for doing it at the end of the day so you're dirty deed won't get public attention until after it's finished.
