The Daily Bucket is a place to catch your casual observations of the natural world and turn them into a valuable resource. Whether it's the first flowers of spring or that odd bug in your basement, don't be afraid to toss your thoughts into the bucket. Check here for a more complete description.
Here's the thing, we need a bucket to catch the observations, but we need obsrvations to fill the bucket. It is a symbiosis, like the Yucca moth and the Yucca, two species so intertwined that they each need the other to survive.
Jump the squiggle for a special treat.
I'm posting this because it is due, it is time, and we need a bucket for all of those observations that you, yes, you will be contributing. I will toss in at least one myself.
Rather than filling up the body with my not too voluminous observation for today, however, I am instead going to post a great diary by loblolly and cross-pimp it here while cross=pimping this one there in the comment thread. A twofer, but only on one condition.
You absolutely must, immediately before or after reading his wondrous diary on pipevine swallowtails, post an observation here. Go ahead, look at the world outside, at nature, and tell us what you see, it is good for the soul.
