"All of us need to be tempered by the fact that we've got to stop spending money we don't have," Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) told reporters at his weekly press briefing. "Essentially, what you are saying is to go borrow money from the Japanese so we can spend it there to help the Japanese."
President Barack Obama said Monday that the United States "will continue offer any assistance we can" to Japan as it deals with aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami. But the majority leader did not back down from the House GOP's proposed budget cuts for programs that respond to natural disasters both at home and abroad. H.R. 1, which the House passed in February, would cut the U.S. Agency for International Development budget by about $121 million, or roughly 8.7 percent.
Got two words for you, Eric Cantor. Two words from a taxpayer who foots the bills so that your rich constituents can live well and pay little. Two words for a party that consistently tries to destroy the lives of regular people with callous disregard because we and others like us do not earn enough to line your pockets.
And two words from someone who's wife's family is in Japan, worried about what's going to happen next in a very small country where running isn't really an option.
That's right. Fuck you - because, as usual, you consider spending money humanely on a country that helped us enormously in our debt during the 80s as a not-so-cost effective thing to do.
Fuck you - because you think that being tough for your brain damaged followers means showing indifference to fellow human beings during the worst time of their lives.
Fuck you for helping to make this kind mindset popular. Sure. You're all about the unborn, but once they become actual human beings they can go rot in hell unless they're last name is Koch.
Fuck you, your slim shoulders, your manicured fingernails and your trust fund. Same goes for Mitch McConnell, another callous little prick who has enough money for 10 lifetimes, most of it gotten through marriage. Nobody's demonizing you people because you are rich. We're doing it because you are selfish. And your values are corrupt.
There is a country right now where thousands of mothers cannot find their children. Others will never see their loved one's again. On top of all this, they have to suffer through a nuclear disaster. These are resillient people. They take life's tragedies with a grain of salt. They deserve our sympathy and help. And this is the time you decide that you've got to show them some "tough love" financially because you need to make a point about a budget issue that is, in truth, a fantasy?
Well, fuck you and the diamond studded horse you rode in on. I hope you can live with yourself, prick.
