Mr. John Kasich is the governor of my great state of Ohio. I refuse to call him my governor because I feel towards him and deep and abiding enmity that will surpass my enmity towards the last President of the United States his true evilness G. W. Bush. I never called him my President but the President. Mr. Kasich is so NOT great at winning friends and influencing people. My friends at Plunderbund got me onto this story in January and I thought I would share.
Between this and his budget, there will be lots to talk about. I appreciate that this is a non-sequitur, but I have held back for a while.
From my friends at Plunderbund who have shared so much.
This story has to do with one of Mr. Kasich's first official duties. That being on January 12, 2011 he signed a state of Ohio proclamation declaring Martin Luther King Jr. Day to be March 17, 2011 instead of January 17, 2011.
Looks to me like Mr. Kasich has a reading comprehension problem. His staff also has a reading and writing comprehension problem. Not surprising since the radical Rethugs don't like people who are educated. Story from Plunderbund here and here.
Of course, this is great for many people to laugh at and get some good Kasich bashing:
Ed Schultz
Keith Olbermann
Stephen Colbert
Hope the links work. I have bandwidth problems so I assume many people do also.
It is so unfortunate that a man (Mr. Kasich) and his party (the Rethugs) are so disrespectful to the people of the state of Ohio. It is going to be a long four years. Looks like the Cleveland Plain Dealer is starting to bail. If they don't like you they start using the word "touts" in instead of promotes or highlights when an elected official comes to town to discuss legislation.
From the front page of the Cleveland Plain Dealer: In Cleveland, Kasich touts budget reforms.
People need to run away when they hear this:
These are his words.
"Reform oriented plan meant to shake up status quo"
I take that to mean that he is going to be worse than Taft, or Voinovich. Well, he warned us that he is here to pick our pockets for rich people and large corporations. It also will make it easier for them to steal from us directly. Can't call him a liar until the jobs really dry up again. Then there will be another round of cuts because the refrain wil be "we can't afford....".
From the day before again on the front page of the Cleveland Plain Dealer: Local governments and schools big losers in the state budget.
It is clear that the governor could care less about children, or school or any method to create jobs (except for getting Rethugs jobs or elected) and cares more about corporate welfare, tax cuts for rich people, and continuing to steal money from the state tax payers by way of RobsOhio oops I mean JobsOhio. The silence is deafening from his fellow Rethugs in the state legislature. His budget is more of the same robbing the poor to give to the rich. Whether we call him "Robin Hood" for the rich or Prince John or the Sheriff of Nottingham, he doesn't work for us although we pay his salary and benefits. Nice work if you can get it.
Where are the jobs going to come from John?
We can't afford the Rethugs to run things. Don't know why people vote for them. Don't know why people can't do some simple research. Don't know why we don't have recall provisions in our state constitution. We can have referendums on their radical legislation and on a recall methodology. I don't know why it takes an entire takeover of the Ohio State government to make people aware of what the Rethugs are up to. They want an entire corporate takeover of "We the people" for pennies on the dollar. Well not on my watch. Just want to make people wake up and take notice. I understand that people just don't care until their livelihoods are threatened. Nice thing is that many people who have voted for the Rethugs aren't going to. That doesn't mean that they can't do lots of damage. There are going to be multiple rallies through the state and a big one in Columbus on Tuesday April 5th. Hope people can come, help, talk to your friends and neighbors, get involved.
Happy St. Patricks Day to everyone!
