I read a diary about ol' Newt framing Obama for 2012. I think the framing chosen has a strong possibility of success, judging by my interpretation of how Obama is leading. It fits the gripe from both Left and Right and the Corporate Center will be voting with their pocketbook. It's definitely got the power to set the media agenda for 2012. I could see a national discussion where all signs point to Newt's framing of Obama being a reasonable and possibly correct assumption.

I'd like to not see that happen. I may or may not vote for Obama in 2012. It really depends on how he responds to the next 18 months of republican sabotage. If he fends it off by moving to the center, or even staying in the center and playing Rope-a-Dope11

Democrats are Weak and Out of Touch

The Name of the debate in 2012 is going to be Weak Democrats wasting your money. That's what it's going to be. Newt's framing plays right into that. I'd expect to see some play off of naivety, nice guy, etc.

Weak Democrats (passive, out of touch, cowardly, anti-american, nice) coddling criminals, immigrants and terrorists. Out of touch, meddlesome Democrats dragging down the private sector and regulating away our cheap gas. What we need are tax cuts, to stimulate the economy, social spending cuts to reduce the deficit and security investments to fight the War on Terror.

It will probably be a full court press, for sure. A hodgepodge of stories all feeding into that framing. It's likely to fall on receptive ears if we are still in a Depression in 2012.

Republican Saboteurs Serving their Corporate Sponsors

Failed Conservative Policies are why we are where we are today - 30 years of nearly unchecked Republican Rule. Republicans today are the party of Sabotage. They are Sabotaging America to Protect corporate Profits and to create a government that serves their corporate sponsors.

Democrats want all Americans to prosper, not just certain kinds of Americans. Democrats want to protect American citizens from waste fraud and abuse. Democrats want one Justice system where rich and poor are treated as equals under the law. America is only as healthy as her citizens. Democrats protect and serve the American People.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
