Newt is really giving Mitt Romney a run for his money for King of Flip Flops.
I guess his strategy to make us forget yesterday's flip-flop was to make a worse one on Libya today. Well done, sir.
Yesterday, Front-pager Barb M. showed what happens when a republican is video-taped. On March 7, Newt said Obama wasn't acting fast enough and needs to start a No Fly Zone "this evening". Just yesterday, he tells us he would not have intervened and panned BO for getting us involved.
When called out on this contradiction today by the Washington Post, he explained to us dumb librals that he was against military intervention until Obama declared March 3 that Gaddafi had to go:
Prior to March 3, I would have strongly recommended an Eisenhower-Reagan model... you should have said nothing. Be very quiet. Condemn the violence. Do everything you can covertly.
-Newt Gingrich today in the WP
See! He supported it only because Obama had to make some noise and call Khadafi out! Not Newt.
Prior to March 3rd, Newt would have been all ninja-like. "Be very quiet." That's how he would have handled it.
Instead, Obama must have listened to this loser: who said this on Feb. 22 (which I believe is prior to March 3):
There's almost a conspiracy of silence, if it's an anti-American government. If you're the Iranians, if you are the Libyans, for that matter, if you're the Chinese, you are able to suppress your people and the American government stays quiet!
-Newt Gingrich 2/22/11 on Fox and Friends
Note to Newt: Buy a calendar. Write down your position on Libya each day. That way you have something to refer to before you go back on Fox and look like an idiot the next day.
