Today's Tarot is a bit different because I'm refreshing myself from Kraig's Modern Magick book. In introducing Tarot, Kraig tells the student to use only the Major Arcana (a subset of those, actually). I bought a relatively new Golden Dawn deck, the Initiatory Tarot of the Golden Dawn, from Lo Scarabeo, and I'm using that for work from Kraig's book.
(more below the fold)
Kraig recommends the Golden Dawn deck by Chic and Tabitha Cicero, which I like, but I'm a Tarot-ho, so I bought this one. :-)
I'm liking the "feel" of this deck. I did a few daily draws with it while I was in Europe and it gave me good vibes.
Just the Major Arcana this morning felt a bit odd, though. Shuffling so few cards didn't feel quite right. I kept shuffling them over and over, but no card jumped out. Finally, I started spreading them out a bit in my hand, and one felt like I should pull it out--that turned out to be the High Priestess.
Positive Change...Growth...Intiution. Given how hectic my morning was (our social media consulting business is taking off), positive change and growth were quite reflected. Intuition? Every time I draw the High Priestess, I feel like it's a woman smarter than me telling me things I should do, rather than a quality within me. Maybe because I hang out with a lot of women who are smarter than me. :-)
