Congressman Fred Upton (R-Upton) is championing legislation aimed at blocking EPA from doing its job of safeguarding us from harmful pollution that threatens our health and our climate. His "bad air bill" is expected to pass the House of Representatives today. I wrote a song about, take a listen.
Recently, over congressional recess, Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI) got hammered at homefor his legislation aimed at blocking the Environmental Protection Agency from updating and enforcing clean air safeguards. His constituents turned out in droves to several public meetings to air their concerns about his "bad air" bill -- and rightly so.
Greenpeace got in the act by slamming Upton with a hilarious TV adspoofing his romance with dirty energy lobbyists. And the American Lung Association plastered a billboard across the street from Upton’s district office calling on him to “protect our kids’ health” by stopping his reckless assault on the EPA. The breathtaking ad features a photo of a young girl wearing an oxygen mask.
Now, Congress is back in session and Rep. Upton's harmful bill is expected to be passed in the House as part of the Congressional Carbon Circus. So, now seems like a good time for me to release another of my patented parody songs about polluter-friend Fred. I invite you to sing along (and spread the word) -- and let's keep up the pressure on Chairman Upton to wake up and smell the air pollution. It's a shame he prefers to stand up for polluters instead of the American people.
