A little something for the Monday morning blahs and the weekend meta hangover. A friend sent this video in an email yesterday. Poking around, it turns out it's from 2007/8, when AARP was running a contest called 'u @ 50', but I hadn't ever seen it and it knocked my socks off. And I thought that maybe we could all use a little pick-me-up thinking about the generation that's coming up behind us...
The author is Jonathan Reed, a student at Georgia State in Atlanta and for some reason this only won 2nd place. The poem is a palindrome, (but I couldn't put that in the title around here without people getting off on the wrong track ;-) ). I'm such a complete sap that I need a hanky for it, but that's me.

If someone would kindly cut and paste the relevant code into a comment, I'll attempt to embed it in the main diary instead of the link. And I know it's not much of a diary, but the video's worth watching.
