Yes it's true! The naive novice Obama, who has no political accomplishemts to his name that I can think of, is the worst negotiator on the planet.
I mean, we all know he became the first AA President through some sort of divine fluke, right?
And of course, we geniuses on internet discussion boards are totally qualified to judge his negotiating ability, because we know that all the nitty gritty, behind the scenes details necessary to judge accurately are objectively reported to us in the Corporate Media and online blogs. And of course, the end results are also always covered with the same factual and objective analysis. What's that you say? The results speak for themselves? Indeed. It's not like he actually has any major legislative accomplishments. And the totally, minor, insignificant ones he does have are hopelessy flawed corporate giveaways. Yes, we know all this. And if you need further proof, just look how the Repubs punked Obama in the recent negotiations over the budget.
Well, now we have even MORE proof that Obama is a shitty negotiator via an "open mic". And we get to see exactly how he gives away the farm:
Republicans have made defunding Democrats' health care law a top priority, but at a closed-to-the-press fundraiser Obama candidly described to donors how he defeated their attempts. Perhaps not realizing his mic was on, Obama's private remarks were caught by CBS correspondent Mark Knoller, who was able to listen to through a live audio feed.
"I said, 'You want to repeal health care? Go at it. We'll have that debate," Obama said, describing his negotiations with Speaker John Boehner. "You're not going to be able to do that by nickel-and-diming me in the budget. You think we're stupid?'"
According to CBS, Obama quoted himself as telling Boehner to "Put it in a separate bill," adding that "if you think you can overturn my veto, try it. But don't try to sneak this through."
