Some talking points and random thoughts for another day in paradise.
Met a man who said he was a Democrat. He says the deficit and illegal aliens are going to destroy America. He is a Christian and wants me to have a blessed day.
Can we please stop saying "pants on fire" when describing liars? How about "he/she is not telling the truth". I know it is not catchy but "Pants on fire" is really weak.
Prosser needed 7500 votes to win and avoid a recall. Some obscure partisan hack, suddenly finds them. Human error you know. Should have put the guy with no degree and 2 DUI's in charge.
I cannot wait for NFL FOOTBALL! I need a rugged and manly diversion from all those mamby-pamby socialists who want to take my money. And how dare the players ask the billionaires owners to take less than maximum profits. Those owners share revenue and build stadiums with tax payer money. Now that is rugged individualistic success from manly Americans.
I read where Senate Democrats are getting angry about the budget negotiations. I guess it is time for a strongly worded letter.
It seems obvious to me. Republicons are trying to destroy the economy to hurt President Obama's re-election chances. President Obama will compromise anything to keep the economy from taking another negative jolt.
Next time Andrea Mitchell or any other oh so "serious" person mentions "getting serious about the budget" will a Democrat please tell HER to "grow up" and talk about the defense budget and raising taxes on the billionaires.
I really dislike Andrea Mitchell and the "serious" people like her, Peggy Noonan as another example. (Oh so serious.) Why, oh why lord, do people like them have so much when so many honest people are struggling?
One of my in-laws, he really wants to work at the company store. He is a serious person.
Met a man who is an Independent, a 20 year Army Sargent and says the military is being screwed by privatization. We talked about Wisconsin, and he said inefficient Unions are destroying the economy.
I will not debate if the earth is flat and I will not debate that tax cuts for the rich increase revenues.
When will our pundits stop allowing themselves to be interrupted?
The e-Trade baby jumped out of his crib today, when his stocks crashed. Turns out he was not aware that Wall Street is a casino and the house always wins against the "little guy" anyway. (That baby sure is little. Sorry.)
The Republicons sure do believe in invisible things don't they? Invisible hand of the free market, invisible magic man above the clouds.
Hey, a true capitalist and "serious" person would not accept the "free market". I mean if it is free, isn't that welfare?
Where is Arianna Huffington these days? LHAO somewhere with Andrew Breibart perhaps. "Oh Bill, will you please post something for free Bill Maher, please?"
As much as I like Bill Maher at times, he makes me uncomfortable with his touchy-feely acceptance of Frank Luntz.
We are engaged in two battles, the first is the well known fight for our social safety net with the Republicons. The second is with Progressives who find arguments "distasteful".
Here is an idea: When a Republicon talking head takes over the teevee, as they do we all know, our pundits should go into the Progressive Mantra.
Suggested Progressive Mantra:
1) Medicare for all.
2) Strengthen Social Security.
3) Cut Defense spending.
4) Tax the Wall Street bankers.
5) I refuse to kill everything and pave over the country.
6) I disagree. (Simple, easy to remember and really pisses off the Republicons.)
And always, always say RepubliCONS.
I thought demand for products created jobs.
Oh and one more thing - "Employer based health care is stupid."
Have a nice weekend and prepare yourselves because we are in the fight of our lives.
