This diary is addressed not to my fellow progressives, but rather to the Tea Party and to what is commonly referred to as hate radio. As an American expat who holds an MBA degree living in the European Union and moved from the noise and the disinformation campaign of the plutocrat owned American media, I see very clearly what has happened here. First American entrepreneurship has been completely decimated, primarily due to the crippling costs of medical expenses in the for profit American medical system. So the plutocrats and the Wall St banksters have sold you this lie of a jobless recovery, so you will continue to spend money that you don't have for things you can't afford. All the while enriching and empowering them, while they incite you to hate us, your very brothers and sisters, children, neighbors and friends, but then again all through history the wealthy have done a good job at turning one half of the working class against each other. While by way of a parasite they live off our life blood collectively in robber baron luxury and grandeur.
Not only is a jobless recovery a complete and utter lie, it is actually impossible, because no economy has ever recovered without job creation driving recovery. So they have lied to you and told you it is possible to recover without jobs and you've swallowed it. But all of this isn't even the point of this diary, which like several of my other diaries will wind up being cross posted to Tea Party sites and dissected. To which I tell you if you're going to dissect something, dissect this, most jobs in the American economy are grown by small business, which you have crippled given your support of the Tea Party agenda whose centerpiece it is to kill medical reform and therefore kill American entrepreneurship, because small businesses are responsible for most of the job growth in America historically and they can no longer afford medical plans for themselves and for their employees. That leaves the American working class with one refuge from the plutocrat led class warfare and that is the union. And now you're supporting their union busting efforts. Then I'm sure most of you already know all these things. So it is now I will invite you to read on below the fold to find out what you don't know but have to hear.
The ugly truth is the American plutocracy's unwillingness to pay their fair share of taxes means that 4 out of every 6 dollars federal government spends is being borrowed, in other words the plutocracy is drowning the American working class in debt.
In the European Union more than double the rate of unionization exists than in America and Europe is prosperous, whereas America is in decline. To understand that you have to stop watching Fox business and look at the travel section, because it shows you through the booming American tourism and travel industry to Europe, that the European Union is indeed prosperous, largely due to high rates of unionization and a strong social safety net. What the American travel and tourism industry to Europe sells are the great social democracies which features clean streets, good infrastructure, low crime, affordable medical care for those who need it of a very high standard, affordable food prices, a great and well functioning public transportation network that features train stations that are integrated right into the airports, light rail and subway systems integrated right into the airport, that are affordable, reliable and punctual enough to where you can set your watch by them for the most part.
Unlike in the United States if you go into a restaurant, the wait staff all have complete medical and dental. They have a prescription medication plan. They have paid sick leave, paid annual leave, paid maternity leave as does even the cleaning staff at your hotels. This covers everyone from the hotel desk clerk to the cleaning staff to the dishwashers, taxi drivers. It includes McDonald's workers. Did you know America is the only major industrialized country in the world that doesn't have job protected paid maternity leave by right of law. Wherein either partner can share in that maternity leave program. Did you know the college kids that you see when they come out with the exception of England, don't graduate with crippling student loan debt. Did you know the United States is the only major industrialized nation in the world that doesn't have some sort of universal medical access system for all of its citizens. Did you know virtually speaking every country in the EU has abolished medical bankruptcy. Whereas in America the majority of bankruptcies are due to medical costs. Doesn't all of this give some sort of meaning to the old phrase only in America.
Were You Born on the Wrong Continent?
How the European Model Can Help You Get a Life

High-wage Germany, which offers the most bottom-up worker control of any European country, nearly ties with China as the leading exporter in the world, well ahead of the United States. But in China and America we work until we drop while in Germany, they take six weeks off a year (with a shocking number of four-day weekends along the way). It’s not just that the Germans can out compete us, but they seem to be doing it with one hand tied behind their backs.

The only real hope that the American working class has are left in the unions, and now these people are trying to con you into busting those unions, while lots of you were Tea Party supporters and union members, who are police officers, firefighters, and first emergency responders in Wisconsin are starting to come over to our side. To the side of progressive labor union supporters, because you know the politicians that you elect are just as likely to sell you out to the interests of big money, as the politicians that progressives elect are also selling us out to big money. What we are left with now that we have crippled small business owners with high medical costs for themselves and their employees, is exactly one thing, and that is the union as the last vestige of American working class prosperity. They are particularly going after public employees unions, because they've already decimated other unionized sectors by de-industrializing America and ripping her manufacturing heart out of the economy.
The last best hope of the American working class and the American dream is to support our unions. To which I say may America's unions live forever, because they are the American working class dream for millions.
The bottom line is millions of Americans who would love to own their own businesses are prevented from doing so simply because of the oppressive costs of the for-profit American medical system. These would be American job creating entrepreneurs are instead held economic hostages in jobs that they hate, they're often dead end jobs, because frankly they cannot afford to lose their medical coverage as part of the price of starting their own business. That hurts American working class families all across the board. A universal medical health care system would solve this problem once and for all! Isn't it time that America joined the rest of the highly industrialized countries in the world by creating a universal medical system in support of the American working class human right to have access to medical care, which to reiterate would support small business ownership and small business job creation.
