On April 15th I visited three Tea Parties and did interviews. The most encouraging thing I observed was that this years Tea Party events were much smaller than last year, on the order of half what they were last year.
So if you are interested in the mentality of surviving Tea Partiers and are willing to hazard possible brain damage here is what I witnessed.
My Apologies for the camera work. This is the first time I used the camera since Santa Claus gave it to me.
This video shows the extent of birtherism in the Tea Party. After I called them all idiots my camera ran out of battery. Then of few of them started pushing me. Eventually the cops were called. Because it was not a permitted event I had as much right to be there making noise and talking about politics as they did and the cop told them as much.
This video shows Tea Party understanding of the Constitution and the fact that they have ignored the historical precedents of Constitutional interpretation.
According to the Tea Party any transfer payment is theft.
This video offers a defense of the current GOP health care proposal. As you can see they have none.
This video shows that the Tea Party is not bipartisan even though they pretend to be. It also shows that they are very reluctant to recognize how well Bill Clinton did on fiscal policy.
This video shows that this Tea Partier thinks America has a special covenant with God, even though he doesn't know much history and doesn't want to debate theology.
This video shows that Ayn Rand rules. The poor should just die.
This video shows that the Tea Party just hates the New Deal and FDR.
I realize that man in the street interviews are not conclusive evidence of anything. The only way for you to know how representative my interviews were is if you could know which interviews I did not use. However I certify to you that the above video is out of nearly 45 minutes of shotting and that no one who is not included in these videos who was with the Tea Party affirmed Obama's native birth and American citizenship to me off camera or in the cut video.
