Tonight we go off-beat and take a look upon good days gone by, those to come, along with banter and hyperbole of who we are and the joys of any given day.
What qualifies as good Kossing?
I am relatively new here and ponder, (quite often), how to be a good DK user. How much should I donate and to whom? Should I look upon my past considerations of being a republican in shame? Do I dare never speak, say or tell anyone how I voted in the past! Are there embedded writers here that I should follow religiously; such as MB, J McCarter or Chris Bowers (I luv the email campaigns). Are my diaries to be of a ratio of 1 to 20 comments, 1 to 20 other diaries that I do read (in full)? Should I get out and toilet paper a Tea Party'rs yard (such as Marilyn Davenport) - and call the police on myself to make a statement?
Be all that as it may, I have already come to really enjoy my time here - unlike any other place, forum or realm before. We have groups, thoughts, battles and debates. Some bring joy, many bring frustration, some anger and an occassional sad. What is absolutely great - are the many decent human beings that I have come to know as kindred spirits (virtual friends). So I will ask that those who are up this late, as I am always; take time to suggest in the comments below - what you think on the issue(s), any irrevant thought you might have and all jokes not deeply risque.
On the diary (if you want to call it that) - where tmax was getting pummeled by us with donuts, for suggesting a 3rd party be. Many of us tried to reason with the guy, who cop'd out and listed his diary as snark. When I flowed away from his banter, I did a Diary on the DOJ seizing Online Poker websites; where we found one irrevant meany who believed anyone going to Las Vegas is a thief (man am I doomed). This led me to 2 different avenues of irrevance that went into good levity.
Irrevence by Kossar's - my sanity maintained;
So we begin the neatness of the irrevence part of this diary with 2 hero's I discovered yesterday - Dark Daze and G2geek. In the banter against the naysayer mean, dark daze remarked upon the engineer high mindedness of the fault finder insinuating that one so accurate on the science of nuts & bolts had a screw loose. After I told daze he was my hero, G2 tried hard to knock him off that perch by his many quips. The best one he has given me liberty to broadcast;
How many Goldman Sachs execs' does it take screw in a light bulb?
NONE - they are too busy screwing everyone else!
Back to the issue of being a good DK'r; let me ask you this. Are we only to be rated on our rec's, tips and comment levels? Do any of you worry that a diary will not get any comments? Does everyone follow the "calendar" of what subjects should be done at a certain day/time?
Do you fear writing something that will get wacked - such as tmax's diary suggesting a 3rd party ( here). Yes, he violated the rules. But are there un-written rules that we all should dare not cross the line or go? Being irrevant does not mean totally disrespect of the person - just their ideas or diary.
Can we disagree and not fight for the disrespectful king award?
What was noteworthy in tmax's diary; is he did not go off the deep end in his staunch refusal to admit he violated the rules. Yes he did try to slight Meteor Blades by inference that MB opened up the subject for discussion. But he did remain of a decorum less argumentative than the naysayer in my diary on Online Poker seizure ( here). The group of J Town have discussed much, in the last 2 days; about hateful and ignorant banter in other diaries large (see J Town comments April 18/19 ( here) & ( here)).
DailyKos'r futurebird wrote a diary about jogging in NY, how it made the city seem small and how the disrespect of those abusive made the city seem a jungle ( here). Her title to the diary was Not Fearless; yet it spoke of anxieties. We do not fear each other here; but we all do desire to be liked. Fortunately none of us appear to have the need so bad that we have become as narcissistic as Trump. Yet no matter how insulated you are by the digital realm; you have a digital "You" - that you also desire to maintain respectfully.
Absolute Must Reads'
Taking the task of DK'ing to the realm of satire and irrevance wry in humor; there is this wondeful diary by "Sarahproudandtall" ( here). It describes a day of Sarah Palin on an Alaska Airlines flight. Where I tested my TU status and put in a Taq of "Snark Who". SP&T also wrote another diary entitled Donald Trump's Mexican Birth Certificate ( here). SP&T tests the boundaries of DK proper-ism, by writing items without denoting up front - that they are fiction; thus leaving people to figure out if they are true stories.
Regardless of, whether or not, you find me of sound mind and body; the two writings are a MUST READ. Failure to do so would make you bereft of a good tangent and possibly unable to answer the question fully - on what makes for a good DK'r.
Please take the time, as the J Town girls do so graciously; and enlighten this newbie with your wisdom(s). What makes for good DK'ing? Where is the humor section here? Or do we need to start one? Irreverence is as irreverence does. I choose to give respect to both good and bad; there are enough haters out there already.
WeatherDude a/k/a "El Blogo de Weatherdudeo" digitally pens this wonderful diary ( here) germane to the discussion. It is entitled "I'm disappointed in what I read today". Where he is reflecting upon the issue that some of us wished ill will upon those on the right, suffering from the horrific storms recent. This sort of irreverence is disdainful and I am glad to see that most of us voted in the correct manner. Be that as it may, is his diary to be considered that of a good DK'r or not? Only "we", "you" and/or I, can answer the question.
I luv this place and all of you here - we are a breed apart from them - a good thing!
