Well I have been away from the fight to promote Progressive policies into the political scene. I mistakenly believed that President Obama was a Progressive who would champion Universal Healthcare, end the Bush tax cuts and of course end domestic warrant-less spying.
Boy what a sucker I turned out to be!
This nation of ours now finds itself in a financial hole that was orchestrated by Wall Street and aided by a willing and eager Republican leadership and some "Blue Dog" Democrats!
Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio now find themselves in the clutches of corporate sponsored dictators who are generously and foolishly called "Governors". Our "news" media are focusing on a narcissistic clown by the name of Trump while democracy is being systematically erased down the middle of this nation of ours.
I thought that it is about time to carry out a two front struggle against corporate supported Democrats (who preserve the status quo) and the far right wing nuts of Republicans that were elected in 2010.
In a news story about Democratic Senator Warner in the Huffingtonpost I commented on how we can save America from disaster. I suggested that there are two approaches in this battle to save our democracy, the middle class and our social safety net.
Those first is to practice "in your face" politics. By this I mean you must do more than just call and write letters to your federally elected officials but demonstrate. Demonstrate in front of their offices in Washington D.C., locally in town-hall meetings in their district offices, and at their homes if necessary. Wherever they go be there must be protesters as reminder that they are answerable to the voter and not corporate money.
The second approach is to siphon money away from the DNC, DSCC, and DCCC, and you do this by funding Progressive PAC's. You know the groups, Move On.Org, People for the American Way, Progressives United, etc. An all out effort needs to be made to convince the DNC supporters that their money is better spent supporting Progressives and the Progressive agenda. By doing this you starve the corporatist Democrats and feed the Progressives.
What did my commentary get me at the Huffingtonpost? It got censored! My comment was considered abusive.
In my next diary I will outline my battle plan.
