At least 25 people have been killed in a US drone strike in the troubled Pakistani tribal region of North Waziristan, officials told the BBC.
Missiles were fired on a large compound in the town of Spinwam, but five women and four children in a nearby house were also killed.

Four children in the same house. Were they siblings? Had the eldest given the youngest a piggyback ride that day? Had their parents put them to bed after telling them a favorite story?
And after their futures were stolen from them, did they look like this?
(Just a few of the thousands of civilians sent to their deaths in Afghanistan and Pakistan by Barack Obama's drone bombers.)
But oh, how awful of me to show you such pictures. Especially after the American media has always carefully shielded you from them.
It's not as if you're happy about the killings of these innocent children. Quite the contrary: Obama's escalation of the Af-Pak slaughter is definitely one of his "mistakes" that you're "disappointed" in.
So why force such unpleasantness on you?
Because there's a very high likelihood that you're going to vote in 2012 to give this war criminal four more years in power. Because he did sign the Lilly Ledbetter Act after all, or because the Republicans are "worse". Your reasons are unimportant to me. They're certainly unimportant to the surviving relatives of the people he's killed.
But if I could, I would force you to walk past the corpses of these children on your way to the polling station - as Patton forced the Germans living near Dachau to march past the newly-liberated death camp:
Before you empower four more years of drone bombers and the shrieks of anguished parents cradling the shattered bodies of their children, I would have your nostrils filled with the stench of the death wrought by your "lesser evil".
