The beginnings of an advertiser boycott of race-baiting Donald Trump's NBC show "The Apprentice" is taking shape. Today Groupon announced that it will block its advertisements from appearing on The Apprentice website, ThinkProgress reports. I've never used Groupon but I'll now have to give it a try.
Kudos to Groupon for being the first advertiser to make a clear statement that it will not support the racist rants and race-baiting actions of Donald Trump, star of the NBC show "The Apprentice," and in turn won't support NBC, which is increasingly complicit in Trump's racism through its silence on this serious matter for the country.
And kudos to ThinkProgress for pushing Groupon on this. This morning ThinkProgress sent a tweet to Groupon asking if the company would continue to sponsor The Apprentice and Donald Trump's "malicious attacks on our President." Just moments later, a Groupon representive tweeted back that the company would be blocking all future ads on The Apprentice website.
Next up: ThinkProgess urges us to contact Enterprise Rent-A-Car to ask them to stop supporting Trump's racism rampage. SeaTurtle has a list of other Apprentice advertisers to target. You know what to do.
