I'm not going to say much about the death of Osama bin Laden. He was an implacable enemy to the country that I call my home and while there is cause to regret the necessity of his death I do acknowledge it as a requirement. You see, I HAVE lost one that I loved to terrorism - it was catholic rather than islamic, back in the UK I lost a GF to an IRA bomb. However, there is one thing I want to call out - an aspect that perhaps may be missed in the days to come. More below the fold.....
Mr bin Laden was given a burial at sea, he was afforded the traditional islamic procedures of his body being washed, wrapped in a plain white shroud and then promptly sent to his rest. I want to honor the servicemen that gave that respect to a fallen enemy. He was indeed an enemy of theirs, on a battlefield they would have had no hesitation about pulling their triggers if either had appeared in the others sight picture. Nonetheless, once it was over this fallen opponent was given the farewell appropriate to his faith.
My friends, that is the difference between the good guys and the bad guys.
