Boehner, Cantor offer views on death panels.
Earlier today, Democratic Leader Pelosi
had some fun at the Republicans' expense over their ever-changing rhetoric on abolishing Medicare. Speaker Boehner has a very
snappy comeback. "Oh, yeah? Well . . . death panels!"
Central to the Medicare scheme outlined by President Obama in his "phantom budget" speech is the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB), a “rationing board” of bureaucrats created by ObamaCare. The Democrats' Medicare "rationing board"…
- …Will Decide Who Gets What Care: "Obama's cuts, which will take effect immediately, are to be administered by his newly created Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) of 15 members appointed by the president. … The IPAB will be, essentially, the rationing board that will decide who gets what care." (Obama’s Medicare hypocrisy, The Hill, 4/19/11)
Meanwhile, Boehner's ever helpful deputy, Majority Leader Eric Cantor admits that the Republican plan rations care. It's just better because private death panels are better than public death panels. Really, that's what he said.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said Tuesday that private healthcare plans ration care for profit but that consumers should be free to buy whatever coverage they can afford rather than depend on government rationing.
See, you should be happy your care is being rationed because that means profits for the health insurers. Yay, free market! If these guys weren't so dangerous, they'd be fun.
