Listen Mike, I know you blog here from time to time so I hope you’ll get a chance to read this. I’m writing you personally to let you know you’re making me look bad.
Why me?
Because I’m a pragmatic, progressive democrat with a realistic approach to foreign policy.
When you said OBL “wasn’t killed he was executed,” you jumped the shark in my opinion.
You see, I was totally against the unjust Iraq war and I was proud of the way you fought so hard against the neocons.
But this?
No my brother, this is where we part.
You want me to cry a river for the man who terrorized this country for two decades? Do you want me to slam Obama for keeping his promise to kill OBL even if he was hidden away in Pakistan? You want me to worry about OBL being taken to some prison and awaiting a fake trial—with all of the international drama only to be“executed” on American soil?
I don’t this so.
Mike, Mike, Mike, that’s some irrational stuff you’re articulating man—too pure, too unrealistic, too irrational and yes you’re making me look bad.
You see, Obama has broken the meme of the weak-kneed, sandal wearing, democrats who smoke peace-pipes in times of war. He has torn down Cheney’s tall tales about how our party can’t protect the United States. He’s destroyed the fraudulent belief that it takes massive armies to find those who desire to harm us. He has erased the memories of so many failed military operations by Clinton and Carter.
You see, I’m a liberal democrat but I also come from a family of warriors who have fought for this country since the civil war. I understand “just” military interventions, and reject “unjust” wars. I understand my rural brothers and sisters dying for all the wrong reasons—while the Heritage Foundation neocons plan new schemes.
I get all of that.
However, I also understand that when OBL created his plan that flew hundreds of “terror-filled-Americans” on four “stolen American planes” and crash them into “three important American buildings” and kill “thousands of innocent Americans” in the process --he had to pay the ultimate price.
We needed to meet him in his home while he was still dreaming and belching after a good meal and wake him up with a group of angry “Americans” in his bedroom. And, before he could hit some detonating button or pull another Toro Bora they "rightly" said “night, night”—just as Obama promised.
So, no---Michael Moore, this is where we part.
I reject your idealistic version of liberal America.
Back away now from your nutty OBL statements while there is still time because you’re making us look bad.
