It would be funny if it weren’t so serious. Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei, the Iranian President’s chief of staff has been arrested for Sorcery. I’ve heard of witch-hunts before, but not REAL ones, in THIS century, at least this high up in the chain of command.
Now the question is: is the office of the Supreme Leader (who as we all know ISN’T the President), kidding about this? Are they just using this as a joking ruse, saying “ hey, we’ve got to arrest the sonofabitch for SOMETHING!” or are do they actually think that Amedenajad and Mashaiei are REALLY summoning up REAL djinns?
If it’s just a ruse to get rid of a pesky president who was elected via ballot stuffing, that’s one thing. But if they really HAD done it, then what good are these Djinn? If the Supreme Leader could defeat them he would have had enough magical power to rain death and destruction on Israel on behalf of the Palestinians, or at least Bahrain, on behalf of the Shi’a. We’re talking about supernatural magic, right?
But if these djinn weren’t able to overthrow the Supreme Leader, who had mere moral authority only due to his position and not any superpowers, then these are pretty poor excuses for genies, which is why the CIA hasn’t unleashed them on anyone. Wouldn’t sending some Special Forces genies after Osama Bin Laden shorten the search by at least a decade? That is unless HE had some working for him as a cloaking device, which would have meant that Seal Force Six wouldn’t have been able to get him …or maybe those were the exact ones that Amedenajad’s people had summoned, leaving Osama unprotected.
Hey, I know that this sounds dumb as a post, but people are sitting in jail and are possibly being tortured over this, and we should take it seriously…. its sort of like Proposition 8 in California three years ago.
The proponents of the thing actually believed that gay marriage could send they and all their relations to HELL for ETERNITY. Now you may not believe that, (I certainly don’t) but they DID. Faith means that the person believes that religious dogma is the TRUTH. That Jesus died for your sins or the Hidden Imam is coming back soon is as true as 2+2=4.
You don’t get to be a Grand Ayatollah by being an atheist, at least not in public. Ali Khomenei may very well believe that there was an army of genies about to attack him, or that they magically stuffed all the ballot boxes in 2009.
The question is: do the Persians think that’s a possibility? If they don’t, then does this mean they think that those at the top are going bonkers? The supporters of both Amedenajad and Khomenei have been reported to be fighting each other in the streets.
This is going to be interesting.
