Some of this is old news -- a certain Texas Congressman is deeply afraid of tampon bombs.

(just a refresher)

“Two 20ish Muslims sitting next to me were speaking in a foreign language and pointing at an attractive woman woman across the aisle from us (we were on SouthWest). It was then that I noticed what appeared to a be fuse between her legs.”

No, I'm not making this up.  I wish I was.

He's the same one that was afraid that people would have kids over here so they could be citizens and come back and be terrorists in a generation.

We’re bringing them over here on tourist visas, some illegally, letting them be born here and saying this is an American citizen. So come back in 20, 25 years when you’re ready to blow us up.

But NOW he's after LAPTOPS.  But not just any laptops -- those used in coach.

Guy seems to think that students are terrorists. (link)

This engineer from IBM was telling me that he there was enough highly reactive lithium in his laptop battery to destroy 25 747s- the only thing stopping most people was that a lack of education. Anyone with a basic knowledge of organic chemistry is a potential terrorists- and the worst part is that they teach organic chemistry at elite liberal college- or madrasas as the terrorists call them..

First of all, we're talking INORGANIC chemistry (organic refers to carbon chemistry), and there is a vast difference between the amount of energy contained within a substance and the rate at which it could be discharged.  Think about the amount of energy in one pound of coal that can be liberated by burning.  If you could get it all in 1/100 second it'd be pretty impressive.

But now this Congressman takes it a step further and channels Bachmann and Palin.  Knowledge is dangerous -- you need to be registered if you know that kind of stuff, and if you should learn it at an "elite liberal college..."

His newest proposal to TSA will make you all flip:

The first thing I did as soon as I landed was tell the TSA- we've got to do something about laptops. Specifically those in coach- there's no reason someone flying coach needs to use a laptop. Seize the batteries and either make them buy new ones, or check them.

And the justification?

that's true- all the 911 hijackers flew coach!

Can you say class warfare?  I don't even know why I'm surprised anymore.

Back to the tampon bomb: there's actually a lot more space in the colon and both men and women are equipped.  In fact, some congressmen have them large enough to fit their heads.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
