Right to Keep and Bear Arms is a DKos group of second amendment supporters who also have progressive and liberal values. We don't think that being a liberal means one has to be anti-gun. Some of us are extreme in our second amendment views (no licensing, no restrictions on small arms) and some of us are more moderate (licensing, restrictions on small arms.) Moderate or extreme, we hold one common belief: more gun control equals lost elections. We don't want a repeat of 1994. We are an inclusive group: if you see the Second Amendment as safeguarding our right to keep and bear arms individually, then come join us in our conversation. If you are against the right to keep and bear arms, come join our conversation. We look forward to seeing you, as long as you engage in a civil discussion.
Doc Oc:
link“A group of violent robbers struck six Uptown pedestrians three nights in a row within a six-block area, beating people into concussions with fists, kicks and, in at least one case, a set of brass knuckles, while taking phones and wallets, Minneapolis police said.”
KV Note: Bad guys can travel in packs. Those who would have no carry laws would leave us with no viable way to fight back against multiple assailants.
KV (speaking of concealed carry):
Wisconsin:
Senate bill 93: This bill eliminates the prohibition against going armed with a
concealed and dangerous weapon.
Senate bill 90: This bill creates a licensing system under which an individual is permitted to
carry a concealed weapon. The bill also makes changes in Wisconsin law to account
for a federal law that requires the state to permit an individual who works as or who
formerly worked as a federal, state, tribal, or local law enforcement officer in
Wisconsin or in any other state to carry a concealed firearm. This bill also makes
changes to laws regulating firearms and other weapons.
So the first bill creates Constitutional carry and the second bill creates a shall issue carry system. I'm interested in seeing which one passes. About damn time Wisconsin joined the rest (most) of the country.
