That is a direct quote from Randy Parraz, an organizer for Recall Pearce. We're on a call with these guys and they've got 7,200 of the 7,700 signatures they need.
No legislator has ever been recalled in Arizona. No state senate president has ever been recalled nationally. EVER.
I think the people of Mesa are about to teach a painful lesson to anti-immigrant extremist Russell Pearce.
This call has been like being at the last game in the World Series, all tied up, at the bottom of the ninth. These guys are FIRED UP about getting this done ...
And the people of Mesa, a redder than red bastion of Arizona, are the ones who are going to do it. The signers of this petition? They're over fifty. They're white. Many of them are Republicans.
Pearce has manipulated and bullied and cheated his way to being the de facto governor of the state, running roughshod over everyone, even Jan Brewer herself.
People are sick of his extremism. He drove a $10,000,000 anti-immigrant bill through, it managed to shut down one sandwich shop for two days. And then it was found to be unconstitutional.
Republican business leaders are complaining about the poor policy. And Pearce says he doesn't care, because he works for the people of the district(!)
Pearce doesn't represent a sensible political view. He hates anyone who stands in his way and he uses any means he can to harass and intimidate his opponents. He's a lot of things, but add bully to the list, and the people of Arizona have had ENOUGH
And one has to wonder to wonder if, after finishing up with Recall Pearce, they might just move on to Recall Brewer.
