Hey all! The hints have been out there for a few weeks now and the rumors are true. A new series from your friends at Readers & Book Lovers is debuting tomorrow evening -- My Favorite Authors/Books.
More info below the flair thingy.
This is not going to be the longest diary you ever read, just enough to give some details, whet your appetite, and perhaps start some of you thinking about contributing yourselves.
Do you have a favorite author, one whose books you always look forward to and whom you are constantly pushing on your friends? How about those books that completely swept you away, fired your imagination, made you want to grab people by the collar and put the title in their hands? Then this is the place for you.
This series will be here on Monday evenings at 8 p.m. and will allow one lucky contributor to wax poetic on that author who holds a place of importance in their bookshelf or that book they would need to survive an extended stay on a desert island. The rest of us can comment on that, other tangently related topics, or really anything else -- I'm easy that way. I will be contributing the first diary, giving a brief overview of how much I enjoy reading Christopher Moore (Bloodsucking Fiends, Lamb).
What do I need from you? Well, showing up would be nice -- I'm a little nervous about this. But I would also like you to consider which authors/books you perhaps would like to contribute a diary about. I'm the editor of the series but as with WYFP, I am hoping/relying on others to provide their own contributions. We are a highly literate bunch here and I can't imagine all the readers on this site not wanting gush about their favorites. I will putting in the call again with the diary but if you want to contribute either send me a message or post it in a comment and I will schedule it (and manage conflicts).
For the calendar challenged, here are the dates for the next few weeks:
May 23
May 30
Jun 6
Jun 13
Jun 20
Jun 27
Jul 4
Jul 11
Jul 18

And to make the series easier to find I have created its own tag of MFAB. Until tomorrow then!
