in case you hadn't heard
today the senate voted to continue giving billions of our dollars to the oil companies.
and in case you hadn't heard, big oil is the most profitable business ever...
on earth.
the vote was 52-48
52 senators voted to stop giving your money to exxon
48 senators voted to continue giving your money to exxon
yes, you read that correctly... 52 say stop the madness; 48 say give away the store
(so much for filibuster reform)
yes, the 48 won.... ????? wtf?!
all our democrats voted to stop giving your money...
all, that is, except the usual suspects:
Ben Nelson of Nebraska, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Mark Begich of Alaska
whatever.
not surprisingly, all of the republicans voted to give your money....
all, that is, except the usual suspects:
Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe from the great state of Maine.
so.... what are you going to do about this????
well, there are a few things you can do
please follow this for a few simple steps
now is the time for action. now.
tonight, after the vote, senator Sheldon Whitehouse from the great state of Rhode Island
was interviewed on Cenk Uygur's show where he said with great passion:
we need to keep bringing this up for a vote.... we need to hear from the american people
what are you going to do about this?
please start here and sign this
then call or write your senator, here is the contact info for the u.s. senate
enough is enough.
time to start screaming.... and calling.... and writing....
time to make it absolutely perfectly clear
that we will not sit here quietly while congress debates cutting medicare and ss
while they continue to give our money to big oil.
74% of americans think it's time to stop giving our money to oil companies
please start here and sign this
then call or write your senator, here is the contact info for the u.s. senate
I just did these two things as well as post this crappy diary
in the span of about an hour and a half
if you sign the petition and write a quick email
that will probably take only ten minutes.... or less.
at a time when our national "debate" is about the debt and deficit
with teabaggers howling at every corner and republicans playing politics with the very security of our financial stability
now is the time to speak up and out.
with 3/4 of all americans supporting the end to these subsidies
are we gonna let the republicans filibuster this???
really????
wtf!!!!
