This is a follow up to a diary I posted last August here
The story is simple. For the last two years or so, every time I've happened to need to fly out of the "high" numbered gates at Terminals A or C at DFW Airport, I've noticed Pete Sessions car parked in 1 hour parking. It's not hard to spot Pete's car.
It's the car version of having a wallet with "Bad MF" printed on it. You know it's yours.
Pete Sessions seems to have a problem with elitism. This most recent episode of Pete treating the 1 hour parking spots at DFW Airport as his own personal parking occured earlier in May. I was flying to Atlanta and I noticed Pete's car in "Pete's" spot while I drove around looking for parking.
This was on May 3rd
As you can see, there's Pete's lovely Tahoe parked in 1 hour parking while he's in Washington DC. It should go without saying that he was there longer than an hour -- after all -- the flight takes longer than an hour. When comparing these pictures from May with my previous diary based on photographs from last August, I noticed that this set came from Terminal A, while the photographs from August came from Terminal C. The only difference appears to be that when Pete treats the 1 hour parking at Terminal C like his own personal spot, they take down the 1 hour parking sign in front of his Tahoe.
(This is the one from last August at Terminal C).
Now, just to set aside any of the naysayers out there who think that maybe Pete just happened to be at the airport to pick up his aunt from Denver at the same time I happened to see his car over a dozen times over the last two years in 1 hour parking at DFW airport.... here's what I found when I returned from my trip to Atlanta.
These were taken on May 4th. The next day.
A friend of mine asked me if this could just be a part of DFW Airport's Valet program. The answer is simply no. When pressed for time, I've utilized the DFW Airport valet service. They don't park your car in 1 hour parking and leave it there for the duration of your trip. They will park your car in 1 hour parking next to your gate exit close to the time your flight lands. But not at the very end of a row of 1 hour parking spots.
(Seriously, the service rocks, try it out if you're in need!)
Look, the point of this diary and the prior diary is simply one of pointing out the hubris of Pete Sessions. Who does this guy think he is? Over a dozen lawmakers fly out of DFW Airport to DC, including Senator Hutchinson and Joe Barton. But PETE is the only dude who thinks he's too good to park with the commoners, or to pay for a car to take him, or have his wife drop him off?
There's a word for this. Chutzpah.
