An anonymous Republican close to Roger Ailes claims that he doesn't think much of the candidates running in the GOP primary and that he believes his employee, Sarah Palin, is a "stupid idiot."
And since the Tea Party have no dignity or pride, they won't do anything about the head of their favorite TV station calling their messiah an idiot but steam and project their anger on each other and the people they're bigoted against, like Mitt Romney (Mormon) and Barack Obama (African American).
He thinks things are going in a bad direction," another Republican close to Ailes told [Sherman]. "Roger is worried about the future of the country. He thinks the election of Obama is a disaster. He thinks Palin is an idiot. He thinks she's stupid. He helped boost her up. People like Sarah Palin haven't elevated the conservative movement.
I guess Chris Matthews is vindicated now that both sides of the aisle agree that Sarah Palin is stupid.
“You can’t run for the Republican nomination without talking to Roger,” one GOPer told me. “Every single candidate has consulted with Roger.” But he hasn’t found any of them... compelling.
uh-doy
Ailes did it to himself.
By embracing the racists and promoting them on TV without the usual Republican cloak of deniability (welcome to the 21st Century George Macaca Allen), he has outed himself and his movement for what it is, and while the Republican base has been overjoyed at finally being able to be loud and proud about their white supremacy, the rest of the country has been horrified.
Yes, Sarah Palin is stupid. Everyone agrees on that at this point. But that's not what really sunk her. Ronald Reagan was an airhead too, but he was told by people wiser than Roger Ailes where to draw the rhetorical line to keep the country from realizing his support base was rooted in racism. So welfare queens became monkey dolls wearing Obama tshirts handed to small children at Sarah Palin political rallies, reports of Palin calling Obama a Sambo at fancy dinners, and Palin herself calling Gregory a racist for calling out racism (the classic white supremacist move)... and the rest is history at this point.
Roger Ailes can blame Sarah Palin for being stupid, but it was Ailes who made a reality TV candidate into a political force, and it was Ailes who promoted her as the answer to the Tea Party's white supremacist movement.
So who's really been the stupid one ever since a black man starting living in "their" White House? Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin's hiring obviously shows that racism prevents rational thought and clouds the mind - there's never been a clearer example of how racism behaves like a narcotic in Republican brains - gnawing away at the brain cells involving self-preservation. Say goodbye to your ratings, Roger.
So who's really been driven to idiocy by our nation's first black president?
The quitter from Wasilla who's making a fortune off of fellow racists like Ailes? Or the guy who took a political empire and gambled it all Vegas style in order to finally promote the racists he's been dreaming of promoting for decades?
Yeah, that was a rhetorical question.
Enjoy your candidates, Roger.
You did it to yourself, you stupid idiot.
Oh, and PS to the Tea Party:
