Research 2000 was the outfit that Markos sued for supplying Daily Kos with what appeared to be bogus polls.
The Huffington Post has an article saying the suit has been settled. And Markos and his attorney declined to comment on the settlement.
I visit this site pretty regularly and I never saw any mention of the settlement. I just searched the site and couldn't find any diaries about it, though I don't know if what I consider to be articles by Markos and the site's other paid employees are considered diaries by the site's search engine or how to search them if they're not. I also did a Google search of "Daily Kos Research 2000 settlement" and found nothing from this site about the settlement.
The Huffington Post article by Mark Blumenthal was published Friday, but said an initial agreement on the terms of the settlement was reached last September and that Del Ali, who runs Research 2000, made the first payment due under the settlement last month and is due to make two more next month.
As I said above, I don't know if Markos has written about the settlement on this site or not, but I think that if he hasn't, he should.
I also think that although a confidential settlement may have been in Markos' best interest, a settlement that enabled this site's members to learn what Research 2000 really did would have been in their best interest.
Ali likely wouldn't have been in a position to fight such a settlement, according to the court document that Blumenthal links to. He wasn't able to get a lawyer to represent him and was facing a default judgement before agreeing to the settlement.
