Furthermore, 17% of Americans still say the President either "definitely was not" or "probably was not" born in the United States, per CNN polling taken after the long form release. You can still find 31% of Republicans who don't believe the President was born here.
Here is the introduction to Mr. Corsi's best-selling tome.
Introduction
The UNDOCUMENTED WORKER IN THE OVAL OFFICE
Who is Barack Obama, and why is the American public forbidden from examining key documentation from his past?
A couple of thoughts.
1) The ability of the RWNM to move books is demonstrated by this book being at #6 despite the fact that only 17% of the population thinks it is even remotely possible that it's accurate
2) There are three explanations for that 17%; racism, people who just plain hate Obama for reasons other than race and will agree with anything bad said about him, and the always-reliable "people who can't understand the question and still provide a random answer".
There is still uncertainty as to the location of the President's birth among 12% of Democrats and 20% of Independents, and uncertainty among 31% of Republicans.
So I'm going to take a wild guess that 10-15% of the country is flat-out racist, and that nearly all of those people are Republicans. Which makes 1/3 to 1/2 of the GOP base racist.
Which seems about right.
