"America has become one big Indian reservation." -Chief Russell Means
Russell Means is an Oglala Sioux activist who almost needs no introduction. In addition to his involvement with AIM (the American Indian Movement) including a stand-off with federal agents on the Pine Ridge Reservation in the Seventies, he has had a prolific acting career which began in 1992 when he played Chief Chingachgook in The Last of the Mohicans. Russell Means recorded a CD entitled Electric Warrior under indie label SOAR. Songs include "Une Gente Indio" and "Hey You, Hey Indian." The American pop artist Andy Warhol painted 18 individual portraits of Means in his 1976 American Indian Series.
