LANE SIEKMAN ANNOUNCES EXPLORATORY COMMITTEE
VEVAY, IN, May 26, 2011: Last night before the Switzerland County Democratic Central Committee, Lane Siekman announced that he will form an exploratory committee to consider the race for Congress in Indiana’s new Sixth Congressional District in 2012.
A successful attorney, Mr. Siekman also has a strong background in economics, business and finance. Lane is the past president of the Rising Sun-Ohio County Chamber of Commerce, secretary of the Southeastern Indiana Regional Growth Alliance, and is the Executive Director of the Ohio County Economic Development Commission. He also teaches business and law classes at Ivy Tech Community College.
Before completing his law degree, Lane received his undergraduate degree from Ball State University in Finance and Economics. In 2010, he completed post-graduate work at the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute.
“We need to protect our senior citizens, preserve Medicare, cut tax subsidies for big oil, stimulate economic development, and expand the middle class” said Siekman.
“This district needs a representative that will stand up for small business and working men and women.”
“Over the next couple of weeks, I look forward to meeting supporters all across the district as we make our decision on whether or not to run for Congress,” continued Lane.
“I have been blessed in so many ways in my life. Now is the time to decide if running for Congress is the best way to help others and make a difference.”
An official exploratory committee will be created and the necessary paperwork will be filed with the FEC within the next ten days.
