While Thursday is the semi-official day for posting bad diaries here, expect a few entries today from hungry, hungry troll-types.
Why?
Because it's National Doughnut Day.
Created in 1938 by the Salvation Army to celebrate the bazillions of doughnuts its workers gave away during the Great War, the holiday has been honored (with a few holes) ever since. In celebration of the event, Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts outlets will offer free toroid treats to their customers, a fine example of peaceful cooperation between bittersweet rivals.
So warm up my cup, Flo and pull me a homecut from the case. What better way to celebrate the New Great Depression than a traditional American treat?
