OMG!  It seems I've sprung a Mojo Leak!  Not even a month or two ago I was full-up, and even a "Trusted User."  But today my Mojo Meter is only at Two Bars.  No wonder when I say "can you hear me now?" everyone is saying 'what?'

Could it be that I got into DailyKos too early?  Maybe I didn't ride the wave to the top so I could keep that coveted T.U. status.

I've been good.  Seriously, I've kept out of the meta-shit-storms for the most part here.  I've commented on many many things and certainly favorited and shared-widely some of the excellent diaries here (especially about Wisconsin and of course RaptureGate).  Still I don't rate.

Joining groups hasn't helped my mojo rating.  Of course it's still fun to keep up with the traffic and I get to read some pieces I wouldn't otherwise run across.

I'm wondering what I have to do to 'receive' more bars.  Are there some obscure tags I have to 'utter' in order to bring about a good firm Mojo rating?  Or do I have to pull out my "I knew Kos when we were in the Army" story again?

How, dear friends; how do I stroke that mojo back up up to it's rightful girth?

Friends, what do you do to keep your mojo standing tall here on Daily Kos 2.0?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:

  •  Mojo me! (5+ / 0-)

I don't even know my number these days.  It was a little above 4 last time I looked.

Maybe it's all those replies to your own tip jar that's screwing you up.  :)

Personally, I don't do anything much.

Write the occasional Diary, recommend some, comment a bit.

    That's it really :)

I hope that the quality of debate will improve,
but I fear we will remain Democrats.

and I got two bars for writing one comment which I think got all of 3 rec's.

I figure it will take a while for that to change unless I write a diary or start posting pictures in the pootie diaries.

    •  Seriously (0+ / 0-)

I mean, I should be busting into the realm with SIX bars of Mojo (that's the secret DKOS-Illuminati level) with pictures of my three pooties, and my four puppies.  But try as I might, I just could never get ANY of those lazy pets of mine to produce even ONE sentence worthy of publication here.  Instead, they just compose minuets all day and paint in oils.

I had 4 bars and this week dropped down to 3. Whatever. Real life is consuming time normally spent on DK...that's a good thing. Seriously, how many times can you discuss who is a true democrat?

    •  You really want an answer to that? (1+ / 0-)

'Cause I'm sure you'll get one pretty soon. It's the second (or maybe third) best pie-fight around these parts.

      You are not alone.

I was almost full up and a TU, but over the night of June 1, my bars dropped to 3 and I lost my TU status.  Fortunately my status was restored after a day.

Elfling told me that mojo decays if you stay away too long.  Have you had a lapse in commenting?

I think the June 1st update seemed to alter the Trusted Universe.

I love New York in June, how about you?

Even my wife is looking at me differently now that I'm once again a Trusted User and my Mojo is almost at full mast!

Seems a person should be able to, at least on this Progressive Blog, be able to take 'paid vacation days' from commenting and writing and recommending.  I mean, what if I took a week off to go to Net Roots?  Would my mojo suffer?  Is that right in the Progressive Universe?  What if I've been standing on the Capitol Steps in Madison, WI trying to ward-off Cheese-Curd-istan and meanwhile, back home on DKos 2.0 my Mojo was deflating into a laughable state that would get me laughed off the set of any serious porn film?

These days with smart phones, one would think there would be an app for Mojo Collection on the Go:

"Tweeting from Dem rally against Scott Walker"  +2

"Dancing at the Jefferson Memorial" +5

"Drinking liberally, even when alone" +1

"Accidentally posting a photo of you watching FOX (even the Simpsons)" -1

        •  DKos smartphone app (0+ / 0-)

Someone at the NYC Kossack gathering I went to awhile back told me they are working on a mobile app.  I currently have the link saved to my iphone, but it's very tricky and hard to post without a proper app.

Your Mojo on the Go made me laugh - maybe we could incorporate them as badges a la 4square, lol.

I actually have been in Madison for the last coupla weeks trying to get a job, and I think that caused my mojo leak.  I tried to comment as frequently as possible, but when you're not at your home computer, and only relying on an iphone without a proper app, it can make for some bony mojo.  (I love that term - saw it on a Cranky User thread the other day.)

My husband was also very happy for me when my TU status was restored.  Simultaneously, I received another interview for the job (this will be my 5th - what is up with companies these days?!)

          Sing it - mojo risin'....

I love New York in June, how about you?

  •  Mind if I use this space to pimp a diary? (3+ / 0-)

I just saw a story on the weather channel about a town outlawing FEMA trailers, George Strain Diaried the story already with the title "Boss Hog" of Cordova, Alabama.  This story needs to be read!

My town here in CT does not allow trailers, but there are exceptions, one of them being when your house is damaged or destroyed, in fact a house down the road had a trailer in their driveway for about a year while the house was rebuilt because of fire damage.  I cannot fathom how someone can be this dense, you can make exceptions for temporary trailers without opening the door to permanent ones.

    Let us pray.

    :-)

I think they ought to publish the formula.  Even though we'd then have folks gaming it "inappropriately."

Its not like you can use Mojo for valuable prizes or something.

The word on the street, is that if you go to the Pootie Diaries, or Jeers and Cheers Friday, or OND, Top Comments, and places like that and be friendly you can pick up a lot of Mojo quickly.

Elsewhere, folks can be "Mojo Stingy," were unless you meet all sort of tacit criteria for Mojo Worthiness, your highly thought out comments can lanquish.

I think they ought to publish accumulated recs recieved on comments too.  And, use that without depreciation as part of the top secret mojo formula.

Well I can see how Open Source Mojo can lead to Open Sores.

Hopefully the secret recipe can be reverse-engineered (illegal) alien technology some day without the Masses of Asses being able to game it for their own edification and amusement.

I see now the ways of the Mojo.  I will celebrate this day with a Mojo-jito in exactly ONE HOUR.  (YAY!)
