From Roll Call:
Rep. Dan Boren (D-Okla.) will reportedly not seek re-election in 2012, providing House Republicans with a prime pick-up opportunity in the Sooner State.
The Oklahoman reported Tuesday that Boren will announce at 2 p.m. in his hometown of Muskogee that he will not run for another term.
Boren won re-election with 56.5 percent of the vote in 2010 in his eastern Oklahoma district. However, Boren's district is trending Republican and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) won it with 66 percent in 2008.
This is a setback for us. But if we do well in 2012, it shouldn't be that bad, making it up in other areas. We may as well give up on this seat. No Democrat would win this seat in an open race, and even if one did, we'd hate him.
Actually, I'm kind of glad he's leaving. One less DINO. Any Democrat endorsed by Toby Keith likely isn't on our side. He's been a thorn on our side. Sure, he's better than any GOPer in that seat, but that's not enough for me. I support liberals before I support Democrats.
Redistricting will change little. And even if it could, it's already done. Oklahoma is red to the bone. And with this, all elected Democrats in Oklahoma are now gone. At least for now.
