OK. Quick background: Maine has now a Republican-dominated legislature (not unusual but new since the last election) and a Republican Governor who was elected by 31% of the voting public, which was less than 50% of registered voters. He now enjoys a lower approval rating than the percentage of the electorate that elected him, which is really saying something.
Talk about a minority government. Which brings me to something, which you'll see over the squigglydoodad™ as well as why Maine "meets" Wisconsin......
So, the real war on voters here in Maine focuses on a bill which may soon pass which would end same-day voter registration and require a picture ID to register. At the same time, there are bills introduced which would create a unicameral legislature (under the guise of saving money, but really to disenfranchise the people) and to create zygotes to be persons and introduce new criminal laws aimed at restricting abortion and punishing women who have miscarriages.
Sound familiar?
Here we go: also bills to gut unions and make Maine a "Right to Work" state, translated: an anti-worker state.
Sound familiar?
This crap is orchestrated. I don't know exactly by whom, but indeed, this is looking a lot like Wisconsin. Now I read yesterday that there is a recall election planned to throw out the Governor of Wisconsin, yet Maine continues to pursue the "Wisconsin Agenda". With a minority government. What the hell?
UPDATE: The bill to create foetuses as persons has died in our State Senate.
