What do you think you need?
Maybe you could rethink that into what you think you want?
What do humans need? Here's my list.
Community. Love. Sex when it's consensual. Food. Some way of keeping out of the way of bad weather.
Knowledge of food plants. Knowledge of how to interact with animals, mutually, for food, or clothing, or tools, in ways that give back to these other animals.
Fun. Play. Organized social rituals.
Good stories, good myths. Ones that work. "Sustainable" is always a good word.
In other words, what do we need, as opposed to what we are used to thinking we need?
It's so much about "want," peoples, and that is so much about sick culture.
What we need is to live in a world that supports us, as we support it. We and every other critter (and we are critters, too), who live here, who have evolved here, with us.
This planet is not here for us to exploit. This is a world that we have evolved into. We are part of it, it is not something that was gifted to us by some imaginary mythical deity.
I'm good with spirituality. But the myths are so frequently sick, ill.
I could say they were fucked up, but that's just one more instance of illness.
Fucking is illness?
What is fucking?
A woman saying "I want you in me!"
How about, a woman saying "I want you to be around me!"
I stole that from Derrick Jensen
He wrote that in a manuscript I've been copy editing.
I'll send him the link to this blog post.
