First of all, let me thank you for your candor and willingness to address a topic that has heretofore only been addressed by every blogger on the internet.  But without your courage in addressing me in the forum of an Open Letter, well, I might not have noticed there was even an issue, much less benefited from your step-by-step instructions on how to resolve it.

By the way, I think that Step #137 might include a typo.

While the advice from family members, close friends and associates, and other professionals is of limited value and certainly has its place in my decision-making process, I can’t tell you how beneficial it was for me to receive comments from a complete stranger.

What you’ve provided me is advice that comes straight for the horse’s mouth, and because this is the internet, for all I know you might actually be a horse.  That would certainly explain the typo in Step #137.

Open Letter, in this time of pain and embarrassment for me and for my family, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your seizing this moment for attention-seeking and self-aggrandizing, because frankly to the extent that people are paying attention to you, they’re not paying attention to me.

Now some people would say that you’re just “piling on” in this situation, but hey, when there’s a live hand grenade thrown into the trenches, who gets the glory?  The first lucky bastard who’s able to pile on and save his comrades.  I appreciate your selflessness in this situation.

But seriously.  Doesn’t your computer have spell-check? I think it’s “I” before “E.”  Look it up.

What I appreciate most about your suggestion is the fact that you come to the issue with no pre-conceived notions.  Since you’re not privy to all the details, and in fact you know only what you’ve read on the internet, your summary of my predicament is not clouded with facts that might otherwise influence your analysis the situation.

Open Letter, the gift that you’ve given me here just what I needed at this painful moment in my life: a thoughtful, retrospective discussion of my personal life that one can’t really get anywhere else now that the Glen Beck program has been cancelled.  I plan to act on your advice as soon as possible.

Except for Step #137.

Warmest regards,

Jeff in Milwaukee

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
