As an introduction to those few who may take the time to read this diary, I have kept my dyslexia in the closet for many decades. Writing a diary is neither difficult nor easy for me, it’s a matter of making the best use of time. I am also perhaps a bit eccentric; translate: curious, open minded, sometimes stubborn and outspoken. But this diary is not about my transformation along the path.
I’ve never considered dyslexia a handicap, or a disability. As an optimist, the ability to read upside down and backward has its’ advantages. As a pragmatist, writing with my right hand was learned behavior, all my student desks were oriented to favor those who were right handed. I’m not sure that all dyslexics have a genetic marker that is turned on for both left and right limb, and brain function. This diary is also not about our genetic differences.
You’ve been patient, thank you. This diary is about the odds that the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Bill, HR 4173, will ever be enforced. As a cynic, I might say that it was a bill designed to imitate “right to life” while in reality there will be no funding, nurturing, parenting or food for the unwanted child.
Wall Street Gangsters, Bankers and Jokers are not only in control of lobbyists, they control both the White House and Congress. Did she say the White House? Look out below for someone who admires the style of Quentin Tarantino.
The collapse of the world economy and the flawed model of capitalism is a story that can be told by inserting the end at the beginning, middle and end to the story. (Oh you say, the economy has not collapsed, there are many positive signals of progress, the American Dream is alive in your mind.) What’s happened to and in Greece could never happen elsewhere, certainly not in the US. NPR mentioned the collapse of the economy in Argentina. Anyone recall what happened? Of course that was long ago, and far away.
Former Fed Chairman Greenspan, a die-hard Ayn Rand free market worshiper, admitted that his “dream” failed. Mr. Greenspan could not imagine that greed would ever enter his economic model of “free markets”? I suggest that you view the PBS Frontline video, or an abbreviated transcript is available.
Bob Swern has written many diaries that shine a light on many financial topics. In addition, Paul Krugman writes in a 1000 word or less style that appeals to those like me who did not major in economics. In my opinion, both men are selfless patriots who speak for those who wish to restore honesty in public discourse.
Both men have written in support of Elizabeth Warren. I’ve not personally seen any historical mention on Dkos of a women that “cried wolf” about the potential dangers in that magical, ponzi scheme of derivatives, during the Clinton administration, Brooksley Born.
Frontline starts their documentary with memories from the good old days of economic boom, the Clinton era. Shrub kept this gang on the payroll when he rolled into the White House courtesy of the SCOTUS. Please note that most of these dinosaurs of Reaganomics, voodoo economics, Ayn Rand free market economics are still controlling economic policies at the pleasure of our President. The exception being Mr. Greenspan, he doesn’t make many public appearances of late.
Alan Greenspan, 13th Chairman of the Fed, appointed by Ronald Reagan, served Clinton and GWB
The list below represents those who joined Mr. Greenspan in destroying the credibility and career of Brooksley Born. Ms. Born is a woman who puts principle before personal security. These are the men who may have helped Alan Greenspan destroy her career. You decide…
Larry Summers, appointed by Bill Clinton, now works for President Obama
Robert Rubin, appointed by Bill Clinton, now works for President Obama
Tim Geithner, Rubin acolyte
Like many, I was inspired by the speech that Barack Obama gave at the 2004 Democratic
Convention. It is my hope that Americans, be they Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Socialists or Tea Party join together to demand what is in the best interests of the majority. We must ignore the voices of division that are streaming at us in an every increasing crescendo.
The Robber Barons are back. They’re here demanding your lunch money. Don’t follow those who care only about their own wealth and well being. In other words, as my father would say, stand up or except the beating from the bullies. It’s your choice, I’ve made mine. (Aside: I’m no Quentin Tarantino)
