Self-indulgent rant follows.
We all agree that the present system is unsustainable. There is some hope that things could be turned around if we grasp the bull by the horns. However we all suffer from AADD and can't seem to focus more than a few moments into the future.
I'm guilty of it. I obsess over Libya and distract myself with events there and in Turkey and in Greece. Look at my comments. Much 'sound and fury signifying nothing.' My discussion with BrooklynBadBoy and my inability to get you interested in events in Greece or Libya matters not.
No, that's not fair. Current events and our reactions to them are worthy of discussion but we must not forget the "ends," i.e., those that "justify the means."
Where we all want to end up is in a society that is: (over the jump)
Fair
Just
Sustainable
And all of that in time to avert Climate Catastrophe.
What more could we want, than a fair, just and sustainable world that averts climate catastrophe in the very nick of time? On this site, and on TED, etc, there is more than enough info to make a blueprint.
The thing is, all of us together have the knowledge of how to do it but none of us individually do. Could we start here and now?
Because it seems to me that a revolution is coming. I do not know whether it will be televised or tweeted but it is coming and it is, so far, leaderless and formless.
I firmly believe that this community can and should give form and leadership to the coming tsunami, as hard as that may be.
