More than a few of you have seen comments and such where I extol my nephew, the oboe prodigy. This time, I'm actually making a diary out of such kvelling.
He'll be leaving Seattle soon, headed off to The Juilliard School. In New York, he'll be studying with the Principal Oboist of the Metropolitan Opera.
The other day, his high school orchestra gave its final concert of the school year. Three soon-to-be-graduates played pieces featuring their instruments ... a violinist, a French horn player, and my nephew. Beneath the DK squiggle is a YouTube video of my nephew's performance of the third movement of Mozart's Oboe Quartet, K.370.
Not too shabby, I'm told by some members of the Seattle Symphony. I've got plenty to kvell about! (Of course, my sister and brother-in-law are kvelling even more, but they don't do it on dKos.
