Last year, brightly painted inoperable bikes started appearing throughout my home town, Muskegon, Michigan.
They're placed in road medians, chained to signs. Sometimes chained to bike racks.
Nobody is quite sure where they're coming from.
They just seem to show up. And they're hard to miss. And beautiful to look at.
This year, more bikes are showing up again. The artist is still anonymous and at large.
I'm glad that there are folks out there to make the world seem weird and new.
Artists tease our minds and give life texture.
