We put real pressure on Paul Ryan this week...thanks to you.
Along with Ryan's challenger, Rob Zerban, we delivered over 65,000 signatures from PCCC members and supporters here on Kos opposing Ryan's plan to end Medicare to his local office. Lots of media covered this activism. The headline of the local newspaper blared, "Zerban presents petition on Medicare to Ryan's office."
This is what effective activism looks like -- progressives working as partners with bold candidates like Rob to move the debate in a progressive direction. Watch a one-minute video of this event. Then, please chip in $3 to help Rob and other progressive candidates continue holding Republicans accountable back home.
With tonight's Federal Election Commission fundraising deadline, you'll probably get a ton of requests for money today. Many candidates and committees will promise to do stuff in the future.
We're committed to doing effective work now.
We work with leaders in Congress and on the campaign trail who are committed to being bold progressives and partnering with the grassroots to move the ball forward on issues we care about.
That's why we partnered with Sen. Al Franken and Rep. Carolyn Maloney to re-ignite public pressure for Elizabeth Warren. We've partnered on the public option and Wall Street reform with other bold leaders.
Now, we're showing how candidates can use their campaign platforms to pressure Republicans back home on Medicare -- in a way that impacts the current debate. That's what Rob did this week.
Please check out the event video and chip in $3 to help Rob and other progressive candidates keep fighting hard! Thanks for being a bold progressive.
