I would like to introduce that term into circulation -- referring to Obama's Monday performance, as brilliantly analyzed by Lawrence O'Donnell and then diaried here.
"Poisoned dogwhistle" is a combination of poison pill and dogwhistle; it is a proposal which is completely unacceptable to the opposition, a reverse Corleone as one commenter put it, "an offer they can't accept" -- which is so unacceptable for reasons completely unfathomable to the general public. I mean why can't those republicans accept an end to tax breaks for corporate jets? Jeez!
And for those who think Obama is selling us down the river, think back to how much he has accomplished in the face of intransigent opposition and surrounded by a persistent economic troubles. All of this was extensively documented back in 2010 when the "do-nothing presidency" canard was decisively debunked.
