Well, this puts Mitt Romney's paltry $18 million to shame, doesn't it?
President Barack Obama's 2012 reelection campaign has raised $86 million in the last three months, mostly from small donors, the campaign announced Wednesday.
In a video announcement sent to supporters, campaign manager Jim Messina said 552,462 people had made donations in the last three months, with 98 percent of donations amounting to less than $250 and donations averaging $69.
The $86 million -- for the Obama campaign and fellow Democratic Party candidates -- is far more than any of Obama's Republican rivals has raised, and far exceeds the amount he raised at the same point in his 2008 campaign.
And next up, the real Republican candidate–Michele Bachmann—will release her fundraising numbers by Friday.
