So if Congress cant decide what to do about the so-called debt crisis...then let the people decide. I am suggesting that in November of 2011 we hold a national referendum on the best plan for debt reduction and job stimulation going forward. Each party shall put forth a budget plan and the voters will select (via majority vote) the one to be implemented in 2012!!! So that even the teabaggers will be able to understand precisely what each party proposes...the plan must fit on a single page. The plans will describe the total amount of money currently spent in 2011 on defense, social security, medicare, medicaid etc and the amount proposed to be spent yearly from 2012-2025. The Congressional Budget Office will present a one page summary for each plan describing how soon the budget would be balanced and how each plan would affect taxpayers and beneficiaries of key social programs, as well as effects on job creation over this same time period. Congress and the President would agree to raise the debt ceiling to a level that allows all obligations to be met until January 2012.
