Given the lack of a Maryland redistricting diary on the DK Elections front page list, I just had to put out one with yet another variant of the maps I've made using Dave's app.
Actually, a more compelling reason is to re-illustrate that Reps. Hoyer and Edwards could both have their way. That is, MD-01 can made winnable for former Rep. Kratovil (what Hoyer wants according to the link) and MD-06 Rep. Bartlett (R) can be taken out (which seems to be the target Edwards wants based on my reading of the text at the link).
If the Democrats can win MD-01 and MD-06, then Maryland can send an fully Democratic (eight member) delegation to the US House of Representative (8-0).
Constraints: There are two 50%+ African American VAP VRA districts (MD-04, MD-07). All current Democratic Representatives must be kept within their districts.
Goal: Create seven solid (Obama 60%+) districts and make MD-01, with an intact Eastern Shore, winnable for the Democrats.
Side-goal: Put the GOP Representatives outside of their districts -- MD-01 Rep. Andy Harris (R) lives way outside (in the Baltimore Co. suburbs) of the new MD-01, and longtime MD-06 Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R) would find his hometown (Frederick) to be located in the new MD-08.
Below is the map. (This is really a 7-0-1 map, with one swing district (MD-01, which leans Dem).)

District Summary:
MD-01 (blue) -- Obama 54.1%, O-M margin 9.5% (D+1) -- Rating: Swing District/Lean Dem
MD-02 (green) -- Obama 60.0%, O-M margin 22.0% (D+7) -- Rating: Safe DEM
MD-03 (purple) -- Obama 60.3%, O-M margin 22.7% (D+8) -- Rating: Safe DEM
MD-04 (red) -- Obama 74.5%, O-M margin 50.1% (D+21) -- Rating: Safe DEM [VRA district: AA Pop./VAP: 50.6%/50.7%]
MD-05 (yellow) -- Obama 60.5%, O-M margin 22.5% (D+8) -- Rating: Safe DEM
MD-06 (teal) -- Obama 60.1%, O-M margin 21.9% (D+7) -- Rating: Safe DEM
MD-07 (gray) -- Obama 64.6%, O-M margin 30.8% (D+12) -- Rating: Safe DEM [VRA district: AA Pop./VAP: 51.1%/50.4%]
MD-08 (slate blue) -- Obama 61.1%, O-M margin 23.8% (D+8) -- Rating: Safe DEM

EDIT: I have added four more pictures of the map. Primarily, I wanted to put up a more detailed view of Baltimore City in response to a question in the comments about whether or not MD-07 was contiguous (it is). I have added that picture, plus three others that depict more detailed views of primarily Harford, Cecil, Prince George's, and Montgomery Counties.
