I don't do diaries, I lurk and enjoy and add a rec here and there.  I realized today that I should share because I am in a vortex today that the KOS community cares about.  I am in the 30th district in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  Yup, that state.
Today, me and the wife got to vote to retain Dave Hansen.  It was not busy, but the new "Show me your papers" twist to the system was awkward.  It's obvious that it is going to slow down the process and that's really the point of it.  Clearly they want to discourage voting in general and specifically to those with busy lives.
That's not the point of the diary tho, it's about my gig and what I didn't see in the mail.  I work at a local tv station that shall remain nameless because I'm shy and they don't need the attention.  The key is I read all the emails that are sent to the newsroom.  Every day hundreds of photo-ops come in.  Cover this, cover that.
Oh dang, I guess this is where I say go over the fold.

I read that David Hansen will be at the Riverside Ballroom celebrating his victory.  I didn't see any emails from the VanderLeest campaign.  Our station doesn't know where their "Watch Party" will be.  The polls don't close for hours, but I think it speaks volumes.
VanderLeest has had a disaster of a campaign.  He has the problem of a rather lengthy criminal and civil record, and we still have CCAP.  It didn't take long for it to be common knowledge and he got hammered with it.
He got flustered after the first ads hit, and held a press conference(yeah, we got that email).  At his bold press conference, he signed the Norquist Pledge.  What a news blockbuster!  Stop the freakin' presses, a Tea Party loon who likes drowning and bathtubs, go figger.  He proceded to take NO questions.
Yesterday he held ANOTHER press conference where he read a statement saying he was going to sue the pants off of everyone for being so mean.  At least that's how it sounded to me.  He thinks he has a million dollar slander case that probably has RICO implications.  Again, he took NO questions.

So I wonder, where is his Victory Party?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
